Firefighters from Linting Town in Jinshan District rescued a 3-year-old girl whose head was stuck between two bed rails on Tuesday.

The department received a call for help around 9am before they rushed to a residential community in Jinshan Industrial Park.

The little girl leaned her head over the bed rail but soon found she couldn't move. Firefighters tried to talk the girl through pulling back as she leaned out, but she was too little to understand their guidance.

After several attempts, firefighters decided to split the bed rail open. They put a towel over the girl’s jaw as protection and removed the top of the rail with a hydraulic cutter, otherwise known as "the jaws of life." The little girl's head was then pulled out.

Although a bit shocked, the girl was not injured.
