The Confucian Temple in Huangpu District will hold a International Cultural Week in conjunction with the Greek National Tourism Organization from December 21.

Various events will be held during the week with Chinese music, food and opera showcasing traditional Confucian culture.

Greece is bringing a variety of cultural products to Shanghai. Apart from traditional arts and food on show at the temple, artifacts from the Museum of Cycladic Art will be exhibited in Hellas House at 735 Yuyuan Road from January.

The Athens museum is famous for its collection of relics from the Cycladic civilization which flourished on islands in the Aegean Sea from 3300 to 1100 BC.

Eugenia Christodoulakos, the museum's art director, said: “We want to set up a regular exhibition in Shanghai so that more Chinese will know our culture and history.”
