Extra metro carriages to cater for apparel fair

Carriages will be added to Metro lines 2 and 17 to cater for additional passengers attending a fabric trade fair at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from tomorrow to Thursday.

The China International Trade Fair for Apparel Fabrics and Accessories is expected to attract about 120,000 people.

During the three days, the departure intervals of Line 2 from East Xujing Station will be shortened. 

Exit 4 of the station will only allow passengers to enter after 12:30pm, and Exit 5 will be closed after 3pm. 

Extra ticket windows will be opened at East Xujing Station and Zhuguang Road Station on Line 17.

Meanwhile, two shuttle bus routes are scheduled for visitors from 2pm to 7pm.

One will run between the NECC and the Hongqiao transportation hub where visitors can transfer to Metro lines 2 and 10, and the other will go from the NECC to Zhongchun Road Station for Line 9.

Visitors are urged to follow the instructions of officers in the stations and buy round-trip tickets.
