A locally developed robot is cleaning up nearly 100 hospitals around the country, leading the trend of using artificial intelligence to do the job.

TMiRob, a robot maker based in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park, has designed a robot that moves freely around wards, operation theaters and labs, disinfecting the air and equipment. It knows how long to spend disinfecting each area and it can return to base by itself.

TMiRob completed a B+ financing round on Tuesday. Investors include state-owned Shanghai Pudong Innovation and Technology Group.
