Roses are in full bloom at the Chenshan Botanical Garden. 

Parks in Shanghai are putting on a range of activities for Mother's Day on Sunday, the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau said on Friday.

The Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District will host a free flower arrangement event on on Saturday. A lecture on flower art and flower arrangement will be held as well.

Chinese roses are in full splendor at the garden where a Chinese rose exhibition is running through May 20, featuring 880 varieties in seven display areas.

Water flora such as water lilies and lotus have also bloomed at the garden.

At the Binjiang Forest Park in the Pudong New Area, free carnations will be distributed to female visitors as gifts on Sunday.

Chinese roses, cornflowers and blue flaxes are in full bloom at the park.

The Gongqing Forest Park in Yangpu District will host various interactive games on the day designed for families and plants have been prepared as gifts for mothers.

The Guyi Garden in Jiading District will distribute free gifts to female visitors on Sunday as well. 

The Shanghai Fangta Park in Songjiang will offer free admission for women on the day. The ticket price is 12 yuan (US$1.76).
