Qipao fasteners called pankou which Xitang in Jiashan is famous for, Jiashan paper-cuts and bricks used in the palaces of ancient China were just the latest of many attempts by nearby areas to attract visitors from Shanghai.
There was also plenty to eat, with typical dishes of Jiashan, including steamed meat with rice flour in lotus leaf, duck and wonton boiled in a casserole and steamed crab.
Details of five recommended tour routes around Jiashan were released by Jiashan County Administration of Culture, Radio and Television, Tourism, and Sports at the event. On the list of destinations are Xitang, Biyun Flower Sea, Yunlanwan Hot Springs, Aficion Chocolate Town and the Jiashan Museum.
