A foreigners’ permanent residence service center will open on September 16, Shanghai police said on Wednesday.

With the opening of the facility, the window for the service at Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Bureau’s application center on 1500 Minsheng Road will close.

Those who applied for permanent residence at the Minsheng Road center this year should collect their permanent residence cards at the new center, police said.

The new service center is located in Building 8-9, Lane 36, Xuelin Road, in the Pudong New Area.

Authorities said the establishment of a new center exclusively for matters regarding foreigners’ permanent residence aims to improve the application process.

Meanwhile, applications for permanent residence can be submitted at district-level exit-entry administrations as before.

The Exit-Entry Administration is available to take questions at the hotline 28951900.
