An academy has been established at Tongji University to support economic cooperation between China and Germany and cultivate management talent.

The Sino-German Academy of Economics and Management was jointly set up by the University’s School of Economics and Management and its Sino-German College. The academy will set up five research institutions focused on finance, project management, industrial projects, urban management, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

It will integrate resources from universities, governments and enterprises in both countries to establish new ecosystems for research, education and society.

The academy is based on long-term, deep cooperation between Tongji and its German partners, Fang Shouen, Party secretary of the university, said at the unveiling ceremony.

Tongji has been an important window for Sino-German exchanges, promoting Sino-German communication in education, science and technology and culture.

According to the Ministry of Education, Tongji’s School of Economics and Management is among the best in China, with rich experience in cooperation with German and  Belt and Road countries.
