Funing County, in neighboring Jiangsu Province, has stepped up its integration into the Yangtze River Delta region and cooperation with Shanghai in terms of tourism development.

A cooperation agreement signed in Shanghai on Thursday involves the promotion of the county's Majiadang tourist attraction, a marshland, Jinsha Lake, Xingou Town and other tourism itineraries. The 2019 Jinsha Lake winter hot spring tourism season was also launched.

The development of Funing's tourism industry focuses on ecological sightseeing, agricultural tourism and revolutionary tourism. The goal is to turn Funing into an ecological and health tourism base of Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, said Xu Huaming, Party secretary of Funing.

Shanghai and Funing have close links in tourism exchange and cooperation, said Xi Qingsheng, an official of the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism.

Many Shanghai tourists visit attractions such as the Jinsha Lake and Taohuayuan (The Land of Peach Blossoms) in Funing every weekend, and the promotion event will further boost the tourism trade between Funing and Shanghai, said Xi.
