Man lying on Metro line detained

A man is being detained for 10 days after lying down on a Metro line on Friday morning, Metro police said.

The incident took place at the People's Square station on Line 2 at 9am.

The 37-year-old, surnamed Wang, has climbed over the platform barriers to lie down on the line but was quickly spotted and taken away by Metro staff, police said.

A train arriving at the station at the time had braked in front of the spot where the man was lying, and no one had been injured in the incident, police said.

Services were affected for just five minutes. 

Police said Wang had been drinking before the incident.
