A performance to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities was held in Huangpu District on Tuesday.

There was a choir from Shanghai Deaf-mutes School and a performance from 19 deaf dancers.

Rap by mentally disabled children was also on the list.

"Learning the erhu enriches my life experience, and many works are a reflection of their creators' understanding of life and the world," said Ma.

Ten people dedicated to the narration of assisted movie viewing for the blind and vision-impaired enabling them to enjoy the magic of movies were given awards during the gala.

More than 300 volunteers in the city have provided more than 1,200 narration services for the blind and vision-impaired, benefiting more than 120,000 people.

The Shanghai Disabled Persons' Federation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai’s federation of literary and art circles during the gala to conduct in-depth cooperation in culture and art involving disabled people.
