Best medical WeChat accounts honored

Shanghai Health Commission honored the 10 best public WeChat accounts from local hospitals and leading medical specialists on Wednesday.

Local medical accounts received 74 million clicks this year with each account getting about 530,000 visits.

Ten articles such as “Did you chose the right hypertension medicine?”and “How to protect you and your family from flu” were named the most read health education articles.

Health officials said hospitals and doctors are encouraged to use new media to promote health education and disease prevention knowledge through simple and interesting words, pictures and videos to improve public health awareness.
