Shanghai Mayor Ying meets Allianz CEO Bate
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Oliver Bate, chairman and chief executive officer of Allianz SE, and unveiled the plate for Allianz (China) Insurance Holding at its opening ceremony on Thursday.
Allianz (China) Insurance Holding is the first wholly foreign-owned insurance holding company in China.
Ying extended his sincere congratulations for the opening of Allianz (China) Insurance Holding. He said that Allianz Group is one of the most influential insurance companies in the world and a member of the Shanghai mayor’s International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council. It has long witnessed and participated in Shanghai’s reform and opening up.
Allianz Group is welcome to put more business in Shanghai and achieve greater development by participating in Shanghai’s urban construction and international financial center construction. “We will create a better business and market environment for all types of enterprises, including Allianz Group,” Ying said.

The opening of the holding company has received strong support from Chinese financial regulators and the Shanghai Municipal Government.
