Shanghai People's Congress closes with new chief

Jiang takes a public oath of allegiance to the Constitution after being elected.
Jiang Zhuoqing was elected director of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai People’s Congress, the city’s legislature, on Monday, succeeding Yin Yicui.
He was elected on the fourth plenary meeting of the Third Session of the 15th Shanghai People’s Congress.
Jiang, 60, has previously served as head of the Yangpu District government, secretary of the Shanghai government, vice mayor of Shanghai, director of the administrative committee of Shanghai Hongqiao Business District, and director of the supervisory commission of Jiangsu Province.
The Third Session of the 15th Shanghai People’s Congress closed on Monday, having approved the government's work report and reports on the work of Shanghai High People's Court and Shanghai People's Procuratorate from last year.
