Port takes measures to prevent infection

The Yangshan Immigration Inspection Station is fighting coronavirus-related pneumonia at the port by enhancing ventilation and sterilization and promoting epidemic prevention guidelines.

According to the station, midnight on Friday will be a peak period with four freighters arriving at the Yangshan Deep-Water Port.

To prevent coronavirus-related pneumonia, the inspection station has placed disinfectant and other epidemic prevention facilities at the center where shipping companies and crew complete procedures.

The station has enhanced its ventilation and carries out regular sterilization as well as broadcasting epidemic prevention videos and providing bilingual advice for domestic and foreign sailors.

It is also in close contact with a branch of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Medical Emergency Center for further measures on disease prevention.

The station said anyone needing to go aboard a foreign vessel should follow inspection police officers' guidance to complete necessary procedures and take protective measures. 

It suggests they complete procedures online to avoid being in a crowd at the port.
