The publishers of "COVID-19: From Basics to Clinical Practice," a new book from local medical expert Zhang Wenhong, are looking for volunteer translators who can help share China's experiences battling the virus with overseas readers.

Zhang is a leading infectious disease expert at Huashan Hospital. He also heads the Shanghai medical team responsible for fighting the coronavirus. He and his colleagues have granted copyrights to the book to Fudan University Press for free, while the latter is contacting overseas publishing houses for publication.

The press will provide free copyright to countries including Spain, Italy and Iran and now there's an urgent need for volunteers who are talented in languages like Italian, Persian, Spanish, English, French and German.

The press has releases 20 pages from the book on its public WeChat account for interested volunteers to review. From this sample, candidates can choose five pages to translate and send the translation to vaneday@aliyun.com. Their texts will be reviewed by overseas publishing houses and selected participants can have their names listed on the translated work.
