One new imported case of novel coronavirus was reported in the city on Tuesday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The patient, a Chinese visiting family in the UK, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on April 18.

The newly diagnosed case has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment and 19 close contacts on the same flight have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 300 imported cases, 199 have been discharged upon recovery and 101 are still hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

Another 12 imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of the 339 local cases, 331 have been discharged upon recovery and one being hospitalized is in serious condition. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.
