1 new imported coronavirus case reported in Shanghai

One more imported case of novel coronavirus was reported in the city on Tuesday, and three imported cases — two from Russia and one from Japan — were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The new patient, a Chinese working in Russia, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on April 10 and started to develop symptoms during quarantine. The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment and all the close contacts on the same flight have been quarantined.

So far, of all the 306 imported cases, 253 have been discharged upon recovery and 53 are still hospitalized, including two in critical condition.

Another four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Tuesday.

Of all the 339 local cases, 331 have been discharged upon recovery and one still hospitalized. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.
