Last local coronavirus patient discharged

One imported coronavirus patient was reported on Saturday, while the last local patient, who was from Wuhan of Hubei Province, was discharged upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese studying in the US and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on April 29.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital and all the 48 close contacts on the plane have been tracked down for quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 314 imported cases, 281 have been discharged upon recovery and 33 are still hospitalized, including two in critical condition.

Another seven imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Saturday.

Of the 339 local cases, 332 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
