'Shanghai, Let's Meet!' video contest launched

A contest for short videos that showcase what's best about Shanghai was launched on Friday.

The "Shanghai, Let's Meet!” competition encouraged participants to submit videos up to a minute long that capture their impressions of the city.

Videos can be on any of three themes — “Wonderful Life,” “Friendliness Everywhere” and “Artistic City.” Entries can feature urban life, human-interest stories, the city’s vigor and innovation, and should reflect Shanghai’s unique charm or characteristics.

The videos should be posted on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, with a special hashtag #抖出我的上海情结#, or uploaded to http://events.idealshanghai.com/shvideo/ after registering. 

Closing date for entries is November 15 and there’s a top prize worth 3,000 yuan (US$420). Winning videos will be published on media including Shanghai Daily and ICS.

The event, guided by the city’s information office, is organized by Shanghai Daily, ByteDance Shanghai, Eastday.com and International Channel Shanghai, and supported by the Shanghai Education Commission.
