One imported COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

One new imported coronavirus case was reported in the city on Monday, while one patient from Hubei Province and two imported patients from the US, including one who used to be in critical condition, were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese studying in the UK who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on May 29.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 38 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 332 imported cases, 326 have been discharged upon recovery and six are still hospitalized.

Another one imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
