1 new COVID-19 case reported in the city

One imported novel coronavirus case was reported in the city on Sunday, while one imported patient from the US was discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese living in the US, who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 11.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 19 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 351 imported cases, 333 have been discharged upon recovery and 18 are still hospitalized.

Meanwhile, two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Sunday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
