One new imported novel coronavirus case was reported in the city on Friday, while two imported patients, one from Singapore and the other from Pakistan, were discharged upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient is a Chinese working in South Sudan and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 23.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 38 close contacts on the same plane with the case have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 365 imported cases, 340 have been discharged upon recovery and 25 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Friday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
