A total of 78 intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) from 20 companies have received test plates in Shanghai so far this year, police said on Friday.
Shanghai started to issue test plates to those vehicles, which could potentially lead to fully autonomous driving, in March 2018.
At the moment, the vehicles are mainly tested in two locations in Shanghai: Anting Town in Jiading District and Lingang area in the Pudong New Area.
