Company is confident Fantasy Crystal art castle can be restored
The damaged crystal glass castle at the Shanghai Museum of Glass.
Crystal art chain Arribas Brothers said it will arrange time with the Shanghai Museum of Glass to have artist Miguel Arribas restore his Arribas Brothers Fantasy Castle.
The artwork was damaged by two children in May who were running around the exhibition space.
"We are in touch with the museum administrators to schedule the proper and safe time for our artist Miguel Arribas to come to Shanghai to restore the castle," Jose Basa, vice president of Arribas Brothers, told Shanghai Daily on Friday.
"Arribas Brothers is very proud to have one of our pieces represented in the beautiful Shanghai Museum of Glass, and is confident that the restoration will be done properly and in a timely manner."
Basa said the company will also be working with the museum to prevent future accidents.
Last weekend, the Shanghai Museum of Glass launched a new program "Kids Workshop: Protector Alliance" to teach young visitors what can and cannot be done during tour.
The workshop, which started on July 24, is held from 11:20am to 12:00pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until August 30.
It has a number of tasks for the children to complete through games, such as distinguishing wrong behaviors from common acts, learning what cannot be brought into the exhibition hall and how to protect the exhibits.
Children aged between 5 and 10 who have a ticket to the museum can attend the workshop for free. But they need to sign up for it in advance through the museum's public WeChat account.
