Five new imported coronavirus cases were reported in Shanghai on Wednesday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

The five new cases are all Chinese working or living in the United Arab Emirates. They took the same flight from UAE and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 3.

They have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 145 close contacts on the plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 415 imported cases, 392 have been discharged upon recovery and 23 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
