Shanghai reported four imported COVID-19 cases on Friday while one patient was discharged upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday morning.

The first patient is a Chinese working in the United Arab Emirates who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 7.

The second patient is a Chinese working in Senegal who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 11.

The third patient is a Chinese who departed from Hong Kong and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 12.

The last patient is a Chinese living in Canada who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 8.

They have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 57 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

So far, of all the 478 imported cases, 405 have been discharged upon recovery and 73 are still hospitalized.

Three imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Friday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
