Film forum discusses support for cinemas

A forum on the reopening of cinemas in the Yangtze River Delta region was hosted in Shanghai on Monday.

Film industry insiders and related enterprise representatives gathered to discuss ways to help the development of cinemas.

Jin Hui, an official with the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association, said box offices in the region usually make up a considerable proportion of the country's total. The forum aimed to enhance exchanges among the region’s cinemas and explore possibilities for cooperation.

Meanwhile, a platform offering financial service for local cinemas was set up. The platform will provide cinemas with channels for loans and funding supports to tide over the difficult time.
