1 imported COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

The city reported one new imported novel coronavirus case on Tuesday, while three patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The patient, a Chinese working in Singapore, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 7.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 46 close contacts on the same plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

So far, of all the 581 imported cases, 540 have been discharged upon recovery and 41 are still hospitalized.

Six imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Tuesday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
