Zhongshan Hospital has signed contracts with two companies to transfer seven patents developed by medical staff into clinical practice.

Through the cooperation, new ideas and technologies developed by medical professionals can be put into commercial development, said the hospital, which plans to turn achievements in the laboratory into products and technologies that benefit patients.

“The cooperation can further improve the efficiency to make doctors’ ideas into practical products,” said Zhou Jian, vice president of Zhongshan Hospital.

The hospital applies for about 200 patents each year and 70 have been made into products. About 20 patents are expected to become products this year.
