The city reported 10 new imported coronavirus cases on Saturday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

The first patient is a Chinese living in Malaysia who departed from the country on September 27 and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on the same day.

The second patient is a Chinese working in the Philippines who departed from the country on October 8 and arrived at the Shanghai airport on the same day via Japan.

The third to the 10th patients are Chinese, Russian, Syrian and Polish working or living in Russia, Turkey, Syria, Poland. The third to the fifth patients departed from Turkey, Syria, Poland on October 8 and arrived at the Shanghai airport on October 9 on the same flight via Russia with the sixth to tenth patients on board.

The new patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 212 close contacts on the same planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, four patients were discharged upon recovery,

So far, of all the 706 imported cases, 645 have been discharged upon recovery and 61 are still hospitalized.

Eight imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported during the last 24 hours, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
