Bright Dairy has been fined 300,000 yuan (US$44,790) for violating China's advertising laws, the city's market watchdog announced on Sunday.

The Chinese map used by the Shanghai-based dairy company in a video advertisement released on its official website was wrong, the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation said.

The map used in the ad about the company's strategic planning failed to accurately and completely mark China's territory.

Bright Dairy was also ordered to discontinue the advertisement.
