Wanda Film's 300th IMAX theater opened

Wanda Film opened its 300th IMAX theater in China on January 4.

Since its cooperation with IMAX Corporation began in 2007, Wanda Film has launched IMAX cinemas in 166 cities across the country. The latest is located in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province.

In August last year, it also opened a new IMAX laser theater at Shanghai Hoyts Cinema.

A total of 45 domestic and foreign blockbuster films were screened at the large theaters nationwide in 2018.

In the new year, movie buffs will be offered an array of highly anticipated films shown in their IMAX versions, including “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” and Disney's live-action version of “Lion King.”

Chinese sci-fi comedy “Crazy Alien” and war epic “800” will also be released with IMAX versions.
