Chinese starlet Ouyang Nana celebrates 10-year anniversary

Ouyang Nana, a 19-year-old cellist and actress, is viewed by many as one of the globe’s most outstanding talents among millennials and Gen Z.

Rising star Ouyang Nana is holding a 10-year anniversary concert in Shanghai on August 24.

The 19-year-old cellist and actress, born in Taiwan, is viewed by many as one of the globe’s most outstanding talents among millennials and Gen Z.

The Chinese artist started her journey into music at the age of 4. She started playing the piano a year later and could play the cello at the age of 6. Ouyang entered the entertainment circle at the tender age of 7 and published her first book “Ouyang Nana’s Musical Adventure” at the mere age of 10.

 By the time she was 12, Ouyang furthered her education in music at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.

Two years later she embarked on a career in the film industry, as a cellist in “Beijing Love Story.”

Ouyang signed her first record deal with Universal Music Group’s Mercury Classics label and released her debut classical album “15” in 2015.

In 2017, the artist released a second album “Cello Loves Disney” and in the same year, she performed at the Oscar’s of science. The starlet played a rendition of “See You Again” alongside American rapper Wiz Khalifa and created history that day to become the first Asian to perform at the event.

Currently, Ouyang is completing her bachelor’s degree at the esteemed Berklee College of Music. But the young star, who won a 31st Japan Gold Disc Award and a 17th Top Chinese Music Award, will be in Shanghai at the end of the month to perform some new songs and classics from her back catalogue.
