Construction is under way yesterday on a ring-shaped skywalk to connect malls in Xujiahui.
Construction is under way yesterday on a ring-shaped skywalk to connect malls in Xujiahui. The first phase of the pedestrian skywalk, to stretch 400 meters, will connect the renovated West Asia Hotel, now renamed T20 Building, along with the popular digital markets, Metro City and Pacific Digital City. The first phase is due to be completed by next November.
The next phase will further link the Orient Shopping Center, Grand Gateway 66 and the Pacific Department Store.
The skywalk is part of the major face lift of Xujiahui commercial zone — renowned for its shopping and electronic malls. The zone will be redeveloped with cultural and entertainment venues taking center stage.
Xujiahui commercial zone was set up in 1992.
