Li Qiang, secretary of the CPC Shanghai Committee, met Jaroslav Tvrdik, chairman of Czech-Sino People’s Friendship Association, and his delegation on Friday.

Li expressed his gratitude for Tvrdik’s efforts to promote the exchange between the people of the two countries. He briefed his guests on Shanghai’s economy and development in recent years. He pointed out that Chinese President Xi Jinping made a state visit to Czech in 2016. During the trip, Xi established the strategic partnership and ushered in a new era for the two countries.

Li said that Tvrdik would attend the talks among the Communist Party of China and other top party leaders in the world and he believed that Tvrdik would surely advance the friendship between China and Czech.

Shanghai has exchange and cooperation with Czech in many areas, and Shanghai established twin city ties with Prague in May, which will certainly bring more cooperation opportunities for the two sides, Li added.

Li also said China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai in November 2018, and China welcomes Czech and other countries to participate in the event for win-win results.

Tvrdik said the local cooperation means a lot for the friendship of the two countries. He expressed his hope for deepening the existing cooperation in trade, cultural industries, sports industries, medicine, and tourism.

Zhuge Yujie, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, also attended the meeting.
