High school students compete to tell "China stories" in English

Twenty-four Shanghai high schools students competed in an English speech contest themed on “China stories” on Saturday.

The “Shanghai High School Students Future Speaker Contest” was first held in 2016.

The students’ favorite topics were Chinese culture and art, China’s economic and technological achievements and Chinese education.

About 30 foreign students studying in Shanghai were invited to attend the event.

Some of the speeches will be published on the WeChat accounts “qingchunshanghai” and “shanghaixuelian” next week.

Three students, respectively from Shanghai Fudan High School, Pudong Foreign Languages School of SISU and Shanghai Shixi High School, won the first prizes, and the rest got second prizes.

The contest is organized by the Youth League Shanghai.
