The tram line in Songjiang District started test runs without passengers on September 28 which will continue for around 34 days.
The first phase of the line, covering 13.9 kilometers, will run from Canghua Road to Zhongchen Road with 19 stops.
The second phase, from Yushu Road to Guyang Road, is under construction and will be finished by October 7. Test runs will start in the first half of next year.
The tram line is due to start taking passengers in December.
