A Yangtze River Delta educational talents service federation was set up Sunday morning in Shanghai to enhance the regional communication and cooperation on educational resources.

Shanghai and the other three provinces co-organized a job fair for teachers at the Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center in Xuhui District Sunday with more than 600 schools from the delta involved.

Yao Hai, secretary-general of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Economy Coordination Committee, said at the unveiling ceremony that the future competition on comprehensive national strength is in fact the competition on talents.

“The establishment of the federation aims to build an important integrated and trans-regional platform which can provide services for the communication between teachers and serve for the development on education,” Yao said.

An official surnamed Zheng with the Shanghai Jianping Experimental Middle School told Shanghai Daily that their school carries an idea of “Three Rings” on educational cooperation. “The inner ring is forming cooperation between the outstanding schools in the city, the middle is the cooperation between schools across the country and the outer ring is sending teacher abroad for communication.”

According to a male job seeker Ni Jian, a student majored in sports at the East China Normal University who is from Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, the federation will be a  nice platform for gathering educational resources and will save his energy from going to different platforms blindly. “It allow us to find the ideal schools to file the resume in a short period.”

At the job fair, it’s found that there is a great need for sports teachers in local market due to the new policy issued by city’s education authority which requires local primary and middle schools to add extra sports classes.

Huishi Primary School which plans to recruit two sports teachers told Shanghai Daily they received the notification of adding sports classes in August and now all the sports teachers have to teach extra classes, which brings burden to them.

Shanghai Jianping Experimental Middle School also faces the same condition.
