Bus rage epidemic continues

A 53-year-old woman has been detained after grabbing the steering wheel from a bus driver and causing a minor traffic accident, Shanghai police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on a No. 783 bus near the intersection of Zhangyang Road and Jujiaqiao Road in Pudong at 9:20am on Tuesday.

The woman, surnamed Liang, missed her stop and argued with the driver, police said.

During the argument, Liang grabbed the steering wheel and as a result, the bus hit another vehicle which was going in the same direction in the next lane.

No one was injured in the accident, police said.

Liang could face a charge of “endangering public safety with dangerous methods,” according to police.
