Mayor Ying meets Russian, Australian officials
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Anatoly Seryshev, an assistant to the Russian President, and Linda Dessau, Governor of Australia’s Victoria state, separately in Shanghai on Friday.
Shanghai is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Russian Federation in the areas of economy, trade, science and governance according to the consensus reached by the two heads of state under the framework of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, Ying told Seryshev during their meeting.
Seryshev said Russia is ready to strengthen political mutual trust and exchange of governance with China and to promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
During his meeting with Dessau, Ying said that Shanghai has a lot in common with Victoria with great potential for cooperation, and he hoped to strengthen cooperation with Victoria in the areas of economy, trade, science and sports.
Dessau replied that Victoria firmly supports the Belt and Road Initiative and hopes to strengthen exchange and cooperation with Shanghai on innovation, biomedicine, and sports competition.
