Yangtze River Delta integration moves forward with cooperation forum
A total of 40 projects worth about 50 billion yuan (US$7.3 billion) were signed in Shanghai at a cooperation forum on the Yangtze River Delta region on July 23.
There were 11 integration cooperation projects and 24 industrial projects with total investment of 26.6 billion yuan, and other five fund programs of 23.5 billion yuan.
Zhao Wei, director of the Bureau of Commerce of Wujiang District, said that exchanges among Qingpu District in Shanghai, Wujiang District in Suzhou and Jiashan in Zhejiang Province had been strengthened since the integration of Yangtze River was upgraded to a state-level strategy.
Zhao said more and more projects come for Wujiang these days while they previously need to go to Shanghai to look for opportunities. Now they embraced various projects with high technological content.
The ecological and economic cooperation deals have also been signed on the forum.
Wujiang District bordering Shanghai currently has four pillar industries — electronic information, silk, optical telecommunication and equipment manufacturing — while is promoting artificial Intelligence and biological medicine industries as well.
