The heat is off as tourists cool their heels
The 30-degree highs are likely to be gone by the end of this week with a cold front from northern China bringing rain next weekend, forecasters said.
After a hot Mid-Autumn Festival, the week will be mainly dry and cloudy and with a high of 29 degrees through Wednesday.
The mild weather is good for visitors to the Shanghai Tourism Festival.
From Thursday, the high will drop and afternoon showers will make their way back over the weekend.
Lows this week will fall slightly to 23 and 24 degrees.
Skies will clear up again early next week with the mercury continuing its downward trend.
