Metro Line 2 temporarily cancels stops at certain stations

Trains on Metro Line 2 will not stop at East Xujing, Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 from January 23 to February 2 due to major tunnel maintenance work.

Passengers to and from Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport can still take Line 10, while free shuttle buses will be available between Songhong Road Station on Line 2 and the Hongqiao East traffic hub from 6:40am until midnight.

Metro Line 10 will operate at peak capacity with trains every 3 minutes and 40 seconds, and remain in operation as late as 1:30am.

Peak traffic from Hongqiao is expected around January 30, when people return from the Chinese New Year holiday.

Nine trains have been reassigned to Shanghai Railway Station to relieve some of the pressure at Hongqiao.

Meanwhile, in Songjiang District, from January 25 to 29, the interval of Metro Line 9 trains between Songjiang Xincheng and Songjiang South Stations will be extended to 18 minutes instead of 5, also due to maintenance work.
