Among all confirmed patients, aged between 7 months and 88 years old, 144 have traveled or lived in Hubei Province, 33 have traveled or lived in other regions, and 155 had contact history with infected persons.

A total of 109 patients are from outside the city, while 223 are local residents, including those with registered residency and people staying in the city for over six months.

There has been one local fatality, and another 126 suspected cases are undergoing tests.

After two weeks, they can go to designated hospitals for followup checks,” she said.

Zheng said the health authority has conducted inspections and provided direction to Pudong and Hongqiao airports and railway stations related to temperature checks, staff protection, disinfection and use of air-conditioners to enhance virus control. Investigations on proper protection at companies resuming work have also been launched.
