The Shanghai International Flower Show will be delayed amid the coronavirus epidemic, its organizers announced on Tuesday.

The exhibition, originally scheduled to open on March 28, will be hosted at the Shanghai Botanical Garden in Xuhui District from April 25 to May 24.

The annual event is now in its 14th year. It is the biggest comprehensive horticultural show in Shanghai and attracts several million visitors.

Organizers are communicating with overseas designers on display arrangements, adjusting flower varieties, and coordinating the resumption of gardening work to ensure a smooth opening. Preparations are in full swing, they said.

The botanical garden reopened to visitors on March 13.
