Hospitals thanked with gift of vegetables
Three city hospitals have received a donation of 25 tons of fresh vegetables from Guizhou Vegetable Group and Guizhou Provincial Foundation for Poverty Alleviation's local office in appreciation of the medical workers' contributions to the fight against coronavirus disease.
On Tuesday, representatives from the two organizations visited the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center and Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, whose medics are now on the forefront of the city’s virus battle.
Zheng Xu, a board member of the vegetable group, said that during the pandemic, local medical workers had stuck to their positions through thick and thin and worked day and night, regardless of the risks. They had made huge efforts for the city and society. The group and the foundation decided to donate vegetables to show their gratitude.
The vegetable group, the largest vegetable resources integration platform in Guizhou Province, has been cooperating with local vegetable providers for several years in a program to introduce agricultural products from Guizhou to Shanghai. It facilitates the promotion of Guizhou agricultural products in the Yangtze River Delta as well as in more regions across China and overseas markets in Southeast Asia, helping with poverty alleviation in the province.
Leaders of the three hospitals expressed their thanks for the donations and told them about their fight against the pandemic.
The Children's Hospital of Fudan University is one of the city's designated hospitals for treating coronavirus disease patients, and also offers free medical services to children and their parents throughout the country in an online project in cooperation with Wuhan Children's Hospital.
