The greenhouse of Shanghai Jiawan Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative on Baoqian Road have 0.267 hectares of mulberries. The black ones are ripe and sweet and cost around 10 yuan (US$1.4) per kilogram.

In the Huating Hami Melon Theme Park, you can go for a walk, fishing and picking fresh vegetables and fruit. The first batch of Yugu melons has come into the market, and the park also has tomatoes, cucumbers and cherries.

Another place for cucumber and tomato picking is at Shanghai Jiafei Vegetable Cooperative. Also ready to be taken home are small peppers, green beans, potatoes and amaranth.

Cherry picking is available at Juyuan Baiguo Orchard, with over 10 species of cherries from home and abroad on offer. Hongguo cherries are ripe and the yield is bigger this year.

There’s still some time before the grapes ripen in Malu Grape Themed Park. However, lettuce, amaranth, potatoes, beans and zucchini can be picked. Reservations are required.

Tomatoes cultivated by Shanghai Fansheng Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative are highly popular.

Located in Malu Town, Hongtai Garden is where you can pick and taste vegetables such as water spinach, potatoes and broad beans.
