A Yangtze River Delta region minsu (B&B) experience week featuring local specialty and cultural and innovative products kicked off in Xuhui District on Friday.

The event, hosted by the Xuhui District Tourism Public Service Center, features 38 unique minsu in Shanghai and Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces through photos and videos. Nearly 100 products are on display.

The Capella Hotel in Jianyeli, Suyu and Yuexiangju in Shanghai, and Naked Stables and Le Passage Mohkan Shan in Zhejiang Province are on the minsu list.

Visitors are able to experience these minsu by scanning QR codes, which will take them on a journey into the B&Bs.

The event will run through June 21 at the Shanghai Culture and Tourism Public Service Center at 2409 Zhongshan Road S2 in Xuhui.

As part of the week, a tourism sharing event was held at the Wukang Road tourist information center on Friday, when the legends, stories and history of old villas and shikumen (stone-gate) buildings in the Hengfu (Hengshan-Fuxing Road) Historical Conservation Zone were shared.

The event aimed to enhance the communication and exchange of cultural and tourism resources in the delta, promote good cultural and tourism products to residents and tourists in the city and revitalize the cultural and tourism industry in the region, its organizer said.

Residents and tourists also had a walking tour of Wukang Road on Friday afternoon to experience the haipai (Shanghai-style) atmosphere of the Hengfu area.

Another exchange event will be held at the Shanghai Culture and Tourism Public Service Center on June 16, gathering government officials and industry, travel agency and minsu representatives to exchange views about minsu development in the region.
