2 new coronavirus cases reported in Shanghai

Two imported novel coronavirus cases were reported in the city on Wednesday, while one imported patient from the US was discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

The newly diagnosed cases are both Pakistanis, who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 2.

The patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all close contacts on the same plane with them have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 356 imported cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and 22 are still hospitalized.

No imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
